Who We Are
The Band
The Black Flakes are a rock ’n’ roll and blues rock band from Stockholm, Sweden, formed in 2021. The four members are Wilmer Karlsten (vocals, guitar), Charlie Westman (guitar), Linus Hasselkvist (bass), and Malte Myrsell (drums). The band’s sound is influenced by The Rolling Stones, Rival Sons, The Black Crowes, and B.B. King. The band is dedicated to preserving and reimagining the essence of rock ’n’ roll.
Since their first show, The Black Flakes have played more than 35 shows across Sweden, from festival stages to famous bars like Stampen in Gamla stan, and blues stages in Gothenburg, Hedemora and Huddinge. In December 2025 the band won Lidingö Rock, one of Stockholm’s biggest annual rock competitions.
Their debut album, Left My Map At The Bar, with seven tracks of rock, was released on March 14, 2025 and is streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music. The latest single, ‘She’s Gone’, followed on February 27, 2026. The band has earned radio play and praise from Bandit Rock and blues media across Sweden.
